The livestock barn at the Norfolk Fair was buzzing with excited activity on Saturday October 8 as the 4H Llama and Alpaca Club worked feverishly to prepare their animals for show. About 20 young people took part in Showmanship classes in the morning, then shifted gears in the afternoon to a Costume Contest.
4Hers created delightful and well crafted costumes for themselves and their animals, with imaginative and unique themes. They were judged for suitability and how well their own costume worked with the animal’s costume, but the highlight was the People’s Choice for the winner. A sizeable crowd filled the bleachers and floor of the round barn cheering on their favourite, with the popular winner emerging as a young farmer with his Thanksgiving turkey.
